MBA Career Skills & Counsellor

 

Job’s mission

We are seeking an experienced and passionate MBA Career Skills Lead & Counsellor to play a pivotal role in shaping the career success of our MBA students. This role leads the design and co-delivery of a high-impact MBA career skills curriculum and provides expert career coaching to support students in exploring, refining, and achieving their post-MBA career goals.
Working closely with the Head of MBA Careers and colleagues across the institution, you will empower students to build self-awareness, expand their career horizons, and develop the practical skills required to compete for and succeed in MBA-level roles across consulting, finance, strategy, product management, operations, and beyond.

 

Key Responsibilities


MBA Career Skills Design & Delivery 

•    Identify and interpret the evolving skills required to secure MBA-level roles across multiple industries and functions.
•    Design, enhance, and co-deliver a cohesive curriculum of career skills workshops, covering:
     o    Career marketability (e.g. self-awareness, personal branding, CVs, cover letters, value propositions, pitching, networking, interviewing)
     o    Functional career readiness (e.g. consulting case interviews, financial modelling, sales, operations)
•    Collaborate with alumni and external providers to deliver specialist content, managing relationships, quality, and budget.
•    Identify, manage, and optimise digital and in-person career skills resources and platforms.
•    Track student participation and evaluate the effectiveness of the career skills curriculum.

 

MBA Career Counselling & Student Engagement

•    Provide individual and group career counselling to MBA students throughout the programme.
•    Inspire and support students to explore a broad range of career options and make informed career decisions.
•    Manage the MBA mentoring programme in partnership with MBA and wider alumni.
•    Build strong relationships with Student Career Representatives to support cohort communication and engagement.
•    Monitor and track career readiness across the MBA cohort over the academic year.
•    Supervise and support MBA student-led thematic clubs.

 

Alumni Engagement

•    Actively engage the alumni network to enhance career learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities for MBA students.

 

 

What We’re Looking For


Essential Experience & Skills
The successful candidate will bring corporate and/or higher-education professional experience, alongside a strong understanding of the skills and competencies required to secure MBA-level roles. They will have a proven track record of designing and delivering engaging, high-quality learning experiences and will likely hold a coaching certification or demonstrate equivalent experience in career counselling.

 

Personal Attributes
You will be self-motivated, proactive, and highly collaborative, with an authentic, empathetic, and inspiring interpersonal style. Comfortable working with a diverse and global student population, you will be culturally adaptable and bring a growth-oriented mindset, underpinned by a genuine passion for student development and career outcomes. Native-level fluency in English is required.
Available to work some evenings and week-ends.
