Junior Data Scientist

The Job's Mission

IMD is looking for a Junior Data Scientist for the Center for Future Readiness, led by Professor Howard Yu, the LEGO Professor of Management and Innovation. The Junior Data Scientist will work on data science-related projects, under the guidance of Professor Yu and the team, and presenting results to them for their use for various purposes. The candidate may also be asked to support with other tasks including preparing power-point presentations, or other administrative tasks. 
 
Main Responsibilities

•    Assess quality of data and remove or clean data
•    Enhancing the data collection process
•    Support building predictive models and machine learning algorithm
•    Assisting researchers in reviewing and describing research findings
•    Meeting regularly with supervisor to discuss research assignments
 
Formula to Success

•    Bachelor or Master (or about to graduate), majored in data science/engineering/econometrics, or in a similar field

•    Good knowledge of statistics
•    Experience in object-oriented programming (OOP) in Python and R is necessary
•    Experience working with Application Programming Interface (API) – a plus
•    Experience working with Git (or any version control system)
•    Knowledge in NLP – a strong plus
•    Experience training and testing machine learning models in the cloud – a plus
•    Attention to detail
•    Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
•    Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
•    Fluent English speaking/reading/writing
