Information & Knowledge Management Specialist
(June 2025 - June 2026)
The Job's Mission
The Information & Knowledge Management Specialist provides excellent support to IMD’s programs and thought leadership through research information searches, reference desk shifts, pedagogical tool support, IMD research publication registration and reporting, and other librarian tasks based on skills and needs. The Specialist is an integral part of IMD’s library, the Research Information & Knowledge Hub (RIK), which supports IMD programs, research, and institutional reporting.
This is a 1-year maternity leave coverage position with possible extension.
Key Activities & Accountabilities
• Provide on-campus support and user training and respond to information research requests via email and phone from program participants, Faculty, and researchers during Infodesk (reference desk) shifts several times per week
• Conduct information searches using IMD’s specialized online databases, Knowledge Management System, and the Web
• Build IMD’s knowledge base by cataloguing IMD’s research outputs and awards
• Support the use of IMD’s online pedagogical tools “Global Signals” and “What the TECH?” (set up sessions, train users, troubleshoot issues, etc.)
• Create or support with reports and newsletters to disseminate knowledge about IMD’s research publications
• Help ensure the accuracy and completeness of IMD research output data through data review and cleaning
• Support research information management projects (system improvements, process automation and guides, OpenAccess repository assessment, etc.)
• As time allows or according to preferences, assist with other tasks such as Infodesk process improvements, digitization of IMD publications, an annual networking/visibility event, etc.
Education
• Bachelor’s in Library Science or an associated field
Experience
• At least 2 years of information research experience (in academic or professional setting), using online research databases
• At least 2 years of experience cataloguing or organizing documents or other information
• Experience in customer service desirable
• Experience with CRIS/RIM systems, ORCID, OpenAccess repositories, and bibliometrics desirable

• Good command of oral and written English
• Strong attention to detail; meticulous and precise
• Excellent personal organization skills
• Capacity to analyse and understand publications and assign relevant metadata tags
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines when essential to business needs
• Team player
• Strives for continual improvement of work processes and tools
• Technology-oriented (“tech savvy”), with experience in the use of online databases, apps, and the Internet
• Good knowledge of MS-Office products; in-depth knowledge of Excel would be an asset
