We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our IT Operations team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our hybrid network infrastructure, which supports our institution’s critical operations. You will work closely with our on-site and cloud-based systems, contribute to ongoing modernization efforts, and support our strategic goals for automation and infrastructure management. The members of the IT Operations Team collaborate with the Architecture, the Security, the Development and the Support & Services teams to ensure efficient solutions lifecycle.

Main responsibilities
Network Operations & Maintenance:
• Ensure high availability of network services to prevent operational disruptions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain on-premise and cloud-based network infrastructure.
• Provide 2nd level support to address local network incidents swiftly, minimizing downtime risks.
• Manage, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software, including Wi-Fi access points, switches, routers, firewalls, and specialized appliances (e.g., DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Telephony, Network Access Control).
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to manage network projects and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of firewall rules, security policies and disaster recovery plan.
• Create and maintain documentation, from architecture diagram to detailed procedures
Network Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation:
• Contribute to the deployment and management of network infrastructure in Azure through code.
• Collaborate on the virtualization of network components to optimize performance and scalability.
• Develop and implement solutions to automate repetitive network tasks, such as configuration management, firmware updates, and monitoring.
• Reduce manual intervention and human error by leveraging automation tools and scripting.
Formula for success
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Network certification at the Associate level such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent
Experience:
• 2-3 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware and software, including Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, and network-specific appliances.
Competencies:
• Knowledge of Juniper and Palo Alto technologies.
• Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools.
• Familiarity with hybrid networks (on-premise and Azure cloud); experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network devices in Azure is a plus.
• Familiarity in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform, Bicep) to support IaC and automation objectives.
• Proven time and project management skills, able to self-organize and deliver fast
• Excellent analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Willingness and desire to continuously learn and self-develop
• Excellent communication skills – providing verbal and written communication to both technical stakeholders and senior management
• Proficient English, French is a plus
