General Ledger Accountant (100%)

 

 

 

The Job's Mission


As part of the Accounting team, the General Ledger Accountant will have a crucial role in managing general ledger accounts and ensuring accurate financial statements. He/she will work closely with the Accounting Manager, the controlling team and with other finance colleagues in Lausanne, Singapore and China. 
His/her position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. He/she will take an active part in system improvement projects and regular closings.
This role demands a candidate who possesses a combination of technical expertise, analytical acumen, and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement, while also exhibiting a collaborative spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 

 


Main responsibilities 

 

•    Prepare Journal Entires and maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
•    Maintaining detailed records in the fixed asset and intangible registers, recording the acquisitions and ensuring accuracy and completeness of asset records
•    Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on the preparation of  accurate and quartely financial reports for management review, providing insights and movement analysis 
•    Prepare consolidated financial statements for the Institution on a quarterly basis Swiss GAAP FER 
•    Manage intercompany recharges and reconciliations to ensure proper allocation of expenses and revenues across entities
•    Collaborate effectively with Singapore and China’s finance teams to ensure timely and accurate closings 
•    Prepare and file VAT statements
•    Support audit process
•    Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement

 


Formula for success 

 

Education
•    Degree or higher education in accounting (Federal certificate or Bachelor/Master degree)

 

Experience 
•    Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in accounting, preferably in an international environment
•    Proven experience in managing Swiss VAT declarations and preparing tax returns
•    Demonstrated experience in preparing financial statements and active involvement in financial audits
•    Proven ability in preparing reportings and presentations to executive level stakeholders


Competencies 
•    Computer literate (MS Office, excellent Excel skills and Accounting ERP system knowledge)
•    Conversational  French and proficiency level in english (C1 level)
•    Excellent communication skills, customer-focused and diplomatic
•    Outstanding ability to organise, prioritise and produce consistently high quality work 
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to take initiatives and adapt quickly in order to meet deadlines
•    Self-driven personality with strong attention to detail
•    Strong team spirit and willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
