Communications Intern (100%): February 1, 2025 – July 31, 2025 

 

The Job's Mission
 
Our ambitious Communications team is seeking a digitally native Communications Intern to help coordinate and execute day-to-day publishing and operations of IMD’s web and social media direction from the bottom up. You will be joining a talented, dynamic, multicultural team which is setting the pace for the dissemination of faculty authored thought leadership and engagement with the IMD community. You will help grow that community and reach new audiences by getting the word out through digital channels, including finding and creating social-first ways of promoting content in concert with social media, content and multimedia teams.  If you are creative, but laser-focused on what works, and ambitious about learning and growing in an evolving digital operation, this is an exciting opportunity for the future.  

 

The role of Digital Communications Intern is at the core of the Communications Team. She/he ensures that the logistical and administrative support is seamless in order to enable the other team members to focus on their tasks.

 

Key activities & accountabilities
•    Support the digital impact of the communications team through understanding and execution of native functionalities across web and social media platforms 
•    Provide support in updating team editorial calendar 
•    Provide support in ideation, publishing and reporting activities across all digital platforms 
•    Synthesize complex ideas and pieces of content into compelling copy, clickable headlines and/or audience-friendly social-first media formats. Contribute to the creation of event pages and IMD newsletters 
•    Place emphasis on user experience and creating a genuine audience and community ecosystem 
•    Experience with or quick to learn fundamental office and digital tools, including in publishing and analytics
•    Assist at on campus events

Education

Currently enrolled in studies (BA/BS in progress, in Communication, Digital Media or Marketing, Social Media, or similar)
 
Competencies and skills

•    Experience of working in an international environment is a strong plus 
•    Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills 
•    Ability to handle multiple priorities in an independent and proactive manner 
•    Customer-oriented 
•    Familiarity with social media platforms, content formats and tools 
•    Curiosity to learn 
•    Diplomatic and discreet 
•    Strong interpersonal skills 
•    Very strong team spirit is a must, as you will work closely with other Communications teams and faculty 
•    English fluent; good command of French or other languages an advantage 
•    Good written communication skills 
•    Computer literate (MS Office) 
•    A good attention to detail
